Anxiety & Panic

Hypnosis is a very effective way of helping people cope with anxiety and stress. It is a technique that practitioners have used for centuries to treat various mental health conditions. Hypnotherapy involves using therapeutic words, phrases and techniques to help the client enter an altered state of consciousness.

Hypnosis is a state that we go into numerous times a day, for example; when we read a book, watch a film or just daydream. It is a state that the mind is very comfortable in and that’s why it feels very natural when you experience it.

Hypnosis revolves around allowing the client to tap into a resource within themselves that they cannot reach on their own, when they’re fully conscious. As the client relaxes into hypnosis the conscious mind moves to one side and then I can speak to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind holds on to lots of memories and experiences and some of these need to be released, as they are causing anxiety.

I begin by teaching the client to control panic and panic attacks. Hypnosis reduces the fear that the client experiences. Relaxing the body and then redirecting the mind away from focusing on those fears.

I teach coping mechanisms so whatever life throws at you, you have the tools to cope.

Hypnotherapy offers an incredibly effective option for anxiety sufferers. It also has the potential to be one of the easiest and fastest therapy options out there. Whether you’re experiencing social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder or negative thinking. I can then boost self-belief and confidence, leaving the client feeling calm and in control.

I trained as a counsellor firstly and I enjoy talking therapy I know the great benefits it has. Then I trained in hypnotherapy, and I find that it works quicker with amazing results.

Let’s start from the very beginning (a very good place to start). I have…scrap that…I HAD been dealing with anxiety, which I believed was being triggered by certain environments. I had tried a lot of different therapies, as well as breathing techniques, meditation, tapping. The lot. Although all of those are beneficial, they weren’t helping me navigate this anxiety. I didn’t really know where else to turn. I was then listening to a podcast episode where Davina McCall was talking of how hypnotherapy had helped her deal with some trauma based issues. I searched online for someone in the area and found Lesley. I read a couple of her reviews and immediately got myself on the waiting list. My goodness it was worth it. Not only is Lesley personable and human, she is also amazing at her job. We had nine sessions in total. At first the prospect of lots of sessions filled me with dread, but then I realised that this is nine hours out of my entire life. Nine hours that have now changed my life. Lesley’s hypnotherapy sessions have allowed me to rediscover my true authentic self. Big statement, I know. It’s the truth. Ongoing trauma from my teens into adulthood had meant that I was living with learned habits that had become imbedded in my muscle memory. Learned habits that weren’t actually mine. Lesley helped me release those and open up the opportunity to be able to find a new path to living a liberated and joyful life. Before seeing Lesley my anxieties prevented me from getting out & about. I could barely get to my local shop without worry. Yesterday, I went for a two hour hike through the  countryside and along the coast. I happy cried the whole way. The cows in the field were staring, but I didn’t care. I finally feel like me. The me I want and deserve to be. Thank you so much Lesley. You’ve changed my life for the better.
